The “Shawnee Bailey Memorial Award” was started in 1989, in memory and honor of beloved former AJBA member, Shawnee Bailey.
Shawnee was a very active member of the Louisiana Junior Brahman Association and AJBA. She was a vibrant, kind, caring member who was killed in a car accident. This award is considered by most to be “the highest award” the AJBA can bestow upon a graduating senior member of it’s organization.
To be considered for the award, each state junior Brahman association nominates one graduating senior member to represent their state. A panel of judges selects the award winner each year at the “All American.”
